After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Emily, in her 83rd year is finally at peace and pain free. Emily always focussed on and surrounded herself with her family. Survived by the love of her life and husband of 65 years Aldo Sr. She is predeceased by her parents Francesco and Teresa DeSimone, as well as her brothers Costantino and Michele. Emily will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Francesco and Salvatore of Toronto, ON and her sister Ida back home in Italy. Emily will also be lovingly remembered by her children Frank (Wanda 2016) and Fiorella Cantacessi (Nicola). Emily was a beloved Nonna and will be missed and remembered by Aldo Jr. (Katie), Pasqua (Dino), Joseph (Valerie) and Mike.

Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent St. Barrie) Monday August 21, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 8:45 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church( 65 Amelia Street Barrie) at 10:00 am. Entombment will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (7300 Highway 27 Woodbridge) with a reception to follow.
