GIRARD, Richard 'Rick'

Rick peacefully passed away at the age of 61 at the Royal Victoria Health Centre on January 28, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Julie Croydon, his mother Gertrude, his brothers Danny (Sharon), Wayne (Jo) and Michael (Terry). Rick will be missed by his nieces and nephews Jennifer, Scott (Connie), Bradley (Elysa), Mandy, Nicholas, Holly, Skylar and Amelia. Pre-deceased by his father Bertrand and his niece Sara. Rick’s passions included his dog Toby, his motorcycle, playing baseball and hockey, travelling and music.  His favourite band was KISS and he saw them live numerous times over the years. While Rick travelled all over the world, he loved Greece and New Zealand the most. He had a kind heart and a great sense of humour.  He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Special thanks to Debbie, visiting nurse from St Elizabeth’s, Dr. Irish (RVH Emergency Department) and all the staff on the Palliative Care Unit, especially Destiny as well as the Oncology Department.
At his request, there will be no funeral.  A celebration of his life will be scheduled in the future.  Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Brain Research).
