GEE, Margaret

Wednesday September 27, 2017. In her 97th year, Margaret was the much loved wife of Arthur Gee for 58 years, Arthur having predeceased his wife by 13 years. Mother was born in Hamilton, Ontario and met her husband at Rocky Crest in Muskoka, just before the War commenced in 1939. They were married in 1946, following Dad’s return from military service. They raised four children together in Burlington and Toronto, they cottaged in Muskoka, and spent their retirement years at “the Farm”, north of Barrie, Ontario. Mother is survived by her children and their spouses : David and his wife Nancy; Greg and his wife Valerie; Alison and her husband Peter; and Beverly and her husband Stephen. Mother had the wonderful blessing of having 12 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren. Although she was the eldest of a family of four, Mother is predeceased by her brother Jack Williams, her sister Mary Weir and husband Al Weir, and her brother-in-law Warren Hyland. She is survived by her youngest sister Betty Hyland, and her sister-in-law Pat Williams. Mother raised her family to know the Scriptures, and she willingly shared her faith in God with others. She cared for her family genuinely and lovingly. A private family interment will take place at Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto. A celebration of Mother’s life will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario on Wednesday October 4, 2017 at 2:00pm.
