After a long, healthy and happy life, Mum passed away quietly on November 12. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Larry in 2012. She is survived by her son Mike (Teri), grandsons Jeremy (Ainslie) and Joel; great-grandchildren Madalyn, Annaya, Eddie and Ivy; son Tom (Elaine); son John (Suzanne), grandchildren Keri Ann (Rob) and Ryan (Erina); great-grandchildren Liam, Noah, Ava, Henry, George.

Mum grew up as an army brat in Camp Borden, ON as her dad was a lifetime member of the military. She experienced the Depression, WWII with her husband overseas in the RCAF, the nuclear age, the civil rights movement, the new millennium, and the pandemic era. Due to Dad’s career in the OPP they lived in many towns all over Ontario, finally settling in Barrie for a blissful retirement of over 35 years which included some interesting travel. Her last 13 years were spent in Winnipeg with immediate family.

Mum was a gracious, reserved lady who was bolstered by her faith and a keen sense of humour. She loved being a homemaker and enjoyed the company of family, friends and many pets along the journey. Her flower garden was her haven. She enjoyed the daily crossword puzzle, a competitive bridge game, and a good book.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Irene Baron Centre and the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Their level of care was outstanding during particularly difficult times. It was a testament to what public healthcare can be.

“Mind how you go.”

A private family gathering will be held in celebration of Ann’s life, and interment of her ashes will be in Barrie, ON. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the SPCA.
