Scott Cameron Forrester

June 7, 1966 - December 10, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Scott Forrester announces his passing after a two-month fight with glioblastoma on Thursday, December 10th at the age of 54 years. He will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend of 31 years (Mary) Lynn (née Theriault). Deeply missed by parents Rod and (Myrna) Lynne (née Dykeman), and brother Sean (Joy). His legacy will live on in his children: Mitchell (Keri), Samantha (Chantz), Maureen, and his first grandchild Mackenzie.

Scott was born June 7, 1966 in Burlington, Ontario. He grew up a mischievous fisherman, with a love of sailing. When he was 13 years old Scott and his family went on the adventure of a lifetime, spending a year sailing around the Caribbean in their 31-foot sailboat.

At 18, Scott met the love of his life and they married on October 14, 1989. For the last ten years, they’ve been settled in their quaint townhouse in Innisfil, Ontario, with two cats and a dog. They were always happy to open their home to family and friends for good times full of food, laughter, and teasing.

He will be remembered as an outdoor enthusiast, pet lover, hardworking handyman, and the life of the party with a great sense of humour. Scott loved to camp, paddle, fish, sail, and tinker in his workshop. He was everybody’s friend, always ready to stop and chat whether you had known each other forever or had been complete strangers just moments before.

With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, there will be a small private funeral for family and a few close friends, with arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. A livestream of the service will be available for those who can’t be there in person on December 16, 2020, at 10:00 am through a link on this site. A celebration of life will be hosted at a later date for everyone who wishes when it is safe to do so.

Memorial donations can be made in Scott's honour to Earthroots, an environmental organization, or Lost Boys Hope, a local dog rescue.
