Passed away unexpectedly on March 8th, 2021 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of DeLores Forbes. Predeceased by his loving daughter, Susan Crawford. Cherished grandfather of Megan Wakani (Jon) and Colleen Crawford (Steve), and great grandfather of Harper, Dylan and Elyse. Survived by his sister Jean Oldershaw. Predeceased by his siblings, Lorne, Jim, June, Anne, Dorothy and Margaret Rose, he was known as “Uncle Donny” to many. Don will be sadly missed by many long-time friends in the Barrie area and, especially, at the Barrington Retirement Residence.
Cremation has taken place, with arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date, when friends and family can celebrate Don’s life safely. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Health Foundation of Ontario, or Oro District Lion’s Club, PO Box 45, Oro, ON L0L2X0, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
