Dave passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2016 at the age of 83. Predeceased by his daughter Wendy (2003). Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Marshall) for 60 years. Devoted father of Kevin & Kellie, father-in-law to Scott (“Fishy”) and Andy, grandfather to Chris, Nicole and Paige. Dave was known for his sense of humour and his devotion to the Blue Jays. He will be dearly missed. A special thanks to all the wonderful caregivers who took care of Dave over the years. Family and friends will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie from 7:00 – 9:00 pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Funeral service will take place at Collier St. United Church (112 Collier St., Barrie) at 11:00 am preceded by visitation from 10:00 am at the church. Reception to follow. Interment to follow reception at Highland Memory Gardens in Toronto. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
