It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of our dear father, Tony Delost, long-time resident of Timmins, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Roberta Place in Barrie, Ontario on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Tony was predeceased in 2012 by his loving and devoted wife, Stella (nee Krizmanich). He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Gloria Dufour (Jack) of Barrie, Marion Humphries (Mike) of Aurora, and Alan Delost (Ginette) of Sudbury. He was a wonderful, caring and fun-loving grandfather to Jennifer, Allison, David, Greg, Andrea, Justine, Amy and Karen, as well as nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Diane Delost of Schumacher, and brother-in-law Stan Krizmanich (Jackie) of Guelph, as well as many nieces and nephews who he truly loved. Predeceased by his cherished sister and brothers, Eva, Frank and John. Tony was born in Croatia, on January 15, 1927 and immigrated to Canada at the age of 12. His family settled in Timmins, where he met the love of his life, Stella. They married in 1947 and had three children. They were married for 65 years. They enjoyed a full life together creating wonderful memories with family, friends and neighbours. Tony was an avid golfer and member of the Hollinger Golf Club. He enjoyed many activities throughout his life: bowling, curling, cross country skiing and dancing. He was a long-time member of the Croatian Hall, and both Tony and Stella were active in the community. Fishing and boating with family and friends was their favourite past-time It brought them such enjoyment and pleasure. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Delost family of Schumacher, for their wonderful support and love. We gratefully thank the nursing staff at Roberta Place for their care and compassion. Their dedication to our Dad during his time there was heart-warming and truly a blessing to our family. We thank God for the gift of his life and we find comfort in knowing our Mom and Dad are finally reunited. A private family service will be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Barrie, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Roberta Place long term nursing home or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
