(November 6, 1931 - February 4, 2018) - Passed away peacefully at home in Barrie ON surrounded by family on February 4, 2018 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Sylvia. Dear father of Archie and Kevin. Beloved grandfather of Chantal, Gerritt and Corey. Predeceased by his parents Archibald (Archie) and Catherine (nee MacKenzie) and stepmother Dorothy of Cape Breton NS. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Anne, Dolores (Lou), Andy (Jeannie), Brother Benedict (Order of St. Benedict), Dorothy (Fred) and Ellie. Archie will be remembered for a celebrated career as a high school teacher in Huntsville and Brampton ON, as an accomplished woodturner in the Simcoe Woodturners Guild, and for his life of community service in the Knights of Columbus and his church. Friends and family will be received at Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 445 St. Vincent St. (just north of Cundles Rd.), Barrie on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will be held at 8:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 am.
