Passed peacefully at the Mariann Home on January 28, 2017. Anna de Groot had just celebrated her 96th birthday on January 22, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Martin de Groot. Loving mother of Cathy Wilson (David), Trudy Mauti (Joe), Helen Haidner (Robert), Maria Tuttle (Frank), Martin de Groot (Elizabeth), Joanne McManee (Mike), Lucy Zeppieri (Frank), Bernadette Bailey (Stewart) and John de Groot. Predeceased by the brothers Gus, Paul, Martin, Joe, Herman and sisters Catherine (Kuypers), Marie (Pashouvers), and Nellie (Weyers).

Loving Grandmother of Peter (Krista), Christina (Isaac), Doug (Stacey), Eileen, Sarah (Eric), Jonathan (Valerie), Rhiannon (Shawn), Jeremiah, Katie, Kendra (Peter), Jacob (Kate), Thomas, Matthew, Anthony, Allison, James, Michelle, Carolyn, Gordon and Hannah. Loving great-grandmother of Abigail, Kennedy, Morgan, Millie, Evelyn, Logan, Ronan, Stella, Arya, Penelope, Harriet, Clayton and Calvin.

Visitation will be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes, 201 Minet’s Point Road, Barrie, on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie on Thursday, February 2, 2017 starting at 10am. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Barrie. Following interment, guests are invited back to the church for a reception luncheon.
