It is with great sadness that Vincenzo Benito De Gasperis passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday February 13, 2022 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center.

Vincenzo (Vince) was born in Sora Frosinone Italy on March 26 1937. He came to Toronto in the early 1950’S then went back to Italy to marry Maria Caracci. Vince, Maria and his mother came to Toronto in 1957 and Maria was expecting their first child to start their new journey. Vince and Maria had 2 Children. Vince worked as a milkman for Sealtest Milk, Cliffside Pipe Layers, VALA Tile and Custom made Drapery. Vince was the head Custodian for many years at St Josephs High School and St Marguerite D'Youville Catholic Elementary School. Vince served at St Mary’s church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He will forever be missed by his wife Maria of 64 years, loving father of Loreta Anna (Victor) and Anthony (Liliana). He is the proud Nonno and cherished by Orlando (Rajma), Adriano (Karlee)  Stephanie (Ryan), Natalie, Anthony (Nathalie). Adored Uncle of Antonio and Angelo Porretta.

Vince is now reunited in heaven with his mother Giuseppa, father Antonio, brother Loreto, sister Maria and brother-in-law Loreto Porretta. Adoring son-in-law to Rocco and Paolina Caracci.

He will be forever missed and held dear in the hearts of Family, Relatives and many many Friends. Everyone who met and knew him had the greatest respect for him.

Visitation will be held at the Adams Funeral Home 445 St Vincent St Barrie, Ontario, L4M 6T5, on Friday February 18, 2022, from 5pm-8pm. Funeral Mass at 10am on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. Mary’s Parish, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie, Ontario.  Interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Road, Barrie, Ontario. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 93 Berczy Street, Barrie, Ontario, following the services. Those who are not able to attend the interment may go directly to the hall. 

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Vince may be made to the Lung Cancer Canada or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
