Suddenly passed on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021 at his childhood home in Barrie at the age of 24. Beloved son of Vincent and Nola (nee Lewis). Loving brother of Simone and Andre (Rachel). Dear grandson of Dowlen and Evadne Cyrus. Uncle of Kylo and dear cousin of Krystal. He will be missed by many extended family members and dear friends.
Korey was known for his sarcasm and dry sense of humour. He was a homebody and loved to spend time with his cat Rengar. Korey was also very smart. He spent time researching a variety of different subjects and always had random facts to share with his family.
Unfortunately, Korey was diagnosed with depression in 2019 and struggled with his mental health for a while. With the support of his family and friends, he did his best to fight through it, and did so as long as he could. He will be dearly missed and forever in our thoughts.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday, January 2, 2021 from 12 pm until the time we celebrate Korey’s life in the Chapel at 1 pm. Due to Ontario’s Covid-19 restrictions, the Funeral Home is able to accommodate up to 75 people in the Chapel for a Service. Guests must be wearing facial coverings and allow proper social distancing. We are able to accommodate up to 25 people at one time for receptions. Guests who would like to join for the receptions must show proof of vaccination status.
