Roger Scott "Skeeter" Currie passed away suddenly on January 17, 2023, at his home in Barrie, Ontario, with his loving wife Maria at his side.

He was the second son of Marie Currie (nee Maloney) and Paul Currie (deceased) of Toronto.  Scott is survived by his wife Maria Duque Currie, brother Blair Stephen Currie, and sister Braunwyn Marie Currie and her loving husband, George Karkoulas, a favourite of Scott.

Scott and Maria were married on February 20, 2010. According to Scott's brother, marrying Maria was quite likely the smartest decision Scott made during his colourful life. They met in their early 30’s and spent thirty great years together.

Maria was there through thick and thin, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health. She was fighting for him when Scott took his last breath.

Scott will also be greatly missed by his many nieces,  nephews.

Scott is also survived by the amazing Duque Family including Maria’s mother Ms. Inez Duque, Alfredo Duque (and wife Miranda), Paul Duque (and wife Becky), Helen Reis (and husband Tony), Steve Duque (and wife Lina) Sandy Duque Estrela (and husband Rudy), as well as Maria’s many great nieces and nephews.

Finally, Scott leaves behind Cooper. Ginger, and Shadow, his daily companions and beloved felines.

Scott loved his family, the great outdoors, nature, Muskoka, his boat, and every gadget known to mankind.  Those who knew Scott were amazed at his grit and perseverance.

For those who wish to pay their respects to Scott (aka ”Skeeter”), a viewing will be

held at Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario on both Monday, January 23rd and Tuesday, January 24th from 3-5pm and 6 -9pm. Services will be held.at St. Agnes, 15 Grace Street, Toronto, Wednesday January 25th, 930am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, would be

appreciated by the family.
