It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother and Nanny, Pat (Patricia) Curran of Barrie, in her 87th year, peacefully with family by her side at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Curran. Dear mother of Kelly Key and Mike Curran. Loving grandmother of Melissa (Matt), Michelle, & Jordyn and Jude & Flynn. Loving great-grandmother of Madison. Sadly, missed by her brother Jim Beardwood (Marie) and sister Joyce Gibson (& the late Paul) of the USA. Pre-deceased by her parents Nancy Beardwood and James Beardwood Sr. Survived by her brothers-in-law Arnold (Inga), and Frank (Nellie). Also, pre-deceased by brothers-in-law Walter (& the late Rose), Dalton (& the late Lois), Allan (& the late Marg) and sister-in-law Shirley Fachnie (& the late Dave). Sadly, missed and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Serenity Retirement Residence for the care, support, and love they showed Pat over the past 10 months. Pat had a heart of gold, always thinking about others before herself, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Friends may call at the Adams Funeral Home, 445 St Vincent Street in Barrie on Thursday, July 14th from 6-9 pm and Friday, July 15th from 10-11am. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 15th beginning at 11am with interment to follow at Barrie Union Cemetery. Following the interment, there will be a reception held at Adams Funeral Home. The family has asked that attendees wear something in any shade of blue as this was Pat's favourite colour. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Barrie Food Bank or the Canadian Cancer Society.
