It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of WILLIAM JOHN COSWORTH (“Bill”, “Coz”, “Will”) surrounded by his loving family at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the age of 59 after a brief and heroic battle with cancer. Bill will forever be in the heart of his loving wife and best friend Debi. He will be deeply missed by his beloved daughter Emma and his future son-in-law Meshach. Cherished son-in-law of Mary (Lloyd), Ron (Linda), his brother-in-law Colin (Tammy), and he will be missed by his nephews Cade and Nathan, his furry family Bentley and Zeus and many friends and family. Dear son of the late Melba and William A. Cosworth and his sister Christine. Radio broadcasting was a passion for Bill and he was affectionately known as ‘Coz’ by his colleagues and broadcasting friends. He began his on-air career in Barrie at CKBB and then on to Rock 95, from there, afternoon host at CHAY 93.1. FM. After leaving CHAY FM in Barrie, Bill operated his own freelance company where he voiced and produced radio and television commercial voiceovers, movie trailers, narration, promo IDs and social media applications throughout North America. Bill had many talents and he especially loved playing the guitar, listening to music and writing songs. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, his love of cars, his knowledge and wisdom, his style, his voice, his rousing discussions about world affairs and for his unwavering resilience in the face of adversity. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at RVH and a special heartfelt thank you to the RVH Cancer Palliative Care Floor nurses especially Brent, Chelsea and Sarah for their loving kindness and compassion. Memorial donations to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Care Centre (Palliative Care Unit) or the David Busby Centre (Barrie) would be greatly appreciated. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the JENNETT FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE.
