It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Irene Coomber. Helen was the beloved wife of Bernard Coomber for 75 years. Mom was a devoted mother to Joan (Gord), Bob, Stephen (Vicki), Suzanne (Paul) and Cherylanne. Helen was a proud grandmother to Christopher, Trevor, Ashley, Kelsie, Connor, Madison, Mackenzie and Taylor. Helen was a great-grandmother to Tyler, Jessica, Mia and Jax. Helen will be reunited with her sister Florence Kearns and brother Lorne Farr. Helen was born to William and Violet Farr on December 21, 1926 in Toronto. Helen worked at Patons and Baldwins for several years during the war. Later, Helen remained at home to raise her five children. Helen later retired from Sears Canada. Mom enjoyed travelling with her husband, summers at the cottage and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could often be found knitting while cheering on her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. A Memorial Visitation will take place on Friday, November 25th, 2022 at the Adams Funeral Home, 445 St, Vincent Street, Barrie, ON, from 2 - 4p.m. and 6 – 9p.m. A Memorial Service will commence at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26th, 2022 in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
