March 24, 1951- March 4, 2024

Linda Britton, 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep due to long-term heart issues. Taken away far too soon and suddenly, Linda was a loving and doting wife to Bob Britton for 53 years, and a devoted mother to Lisa (Szymanski), Rob Britton, and Teresa (Alex Messer). Linda adored her eight grandchildren David, Jessie, Corey, Cody, Savanna, Alyssa, Sean and Mathew. She was also thrilled to be a great-grandmother to Haiyden, Baiyleigh, Lilly-Ann, Hannah, Jacob and Jackson. Linda's kindness and love extended to her children's and grandchildren's partners, both past and current. She was also a devoted sister to Elizabeth Hader and Harvey Hamblyn, both of whom predeceased Linda and left an empty spot in her life.

In her heyday, Linda made a name for herself as the heart and soul behind "Nana's Old Fashioned Fudge" – sitting at the helm of the factory for nearly 10 years. This business came naturally to Linda as she was an avid baker – treating friends and family to the most decadent cakes, cookies and candies for every holiday. Her chocolate Easter eggs were famous in the Britton family circle! Linda always made every holiday special, cooking and decorating for her huge clan and enjoying every minute of the time she spent with all, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She welcomed all to her home, whether related by blood or not, and Linda and Bob's home was a safe space for so many.

Outside of the house, Linda loved to garden and make her surroundings beautiful – matching the beauty in her heart. Everyone who knew Linda, loved her dearly. She will be sorely missed by all and will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to those who loved her unconditionally.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 7 – 9 PM, and on Saturday, March 16 from 10 AM until the time we celebrate Linda’s life in the Chapel at 11 AM.  Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the lounge. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online memories and condolences may be forwarded via www.steckleygooderham.com
