Retired from Molson Brewery after 34 years service
Peacefully surrounded by his family at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Sunday April 3, 2016 in his 86th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Betty for 62 years. Forever remembered and loved by his children Paul (Sherry), Cathy (Mark) Chalmers, Jim (Pat), and Debbie (Jerry) Gulka. Proud grandfather “Gramps” of Joslyn, Branden, Shawn, Lindsay, Nicholas, Hannah, and great grandpa of Rylan, Abbie, Noah and Daniel. Predeceased by brothers and sisters Johanna Mitchell, Leonard, Antonetta Gutscher, Jack, Michael, Alfred, Louise Albrect, Marie Wilhelm, Cyril, and Irene Herringer. Sadly missed and always remembered by many nieces and nephews. Guests will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral home, 201 Minet’s Point Rd., Barrie on Friday April 8th, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A mass of Christian burial will take place the following day, Saturday, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie, starting at 11am. Cremation will follow. If desired, donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the RVH Foundation and are greatly appreciated. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the nurses and doctors at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and St. Elizabeth Health Care for the wonderful care and support both Gerald and the family received during this difficult time.
