Tony Bellavance went home suddenly to be with Christ on December 13, 2018 at the age of 65.


Tony was a member of the Toronto Fire Services where he served for 33 years, 8 months and retired as a Platoon Chief. During his career he also served as Command Team Leader for Toronto’s Heavy Urban Search and Rescue (HUSAR) team and was the Project Lead for the Pan Am Games Strategic Planning Team.

He was the loving husband and best friend of Jersene, proud father of their four children Dylan Bellavance, Kyla (Darryl) Augustine, Loni Bellavance and Joel Bellavance and beloved Papére of Madelyn, Jonah, Renan and Elise. Tony will be remembered by his sisters, Cathy (Bob) Smeets and Adele (Mike) Bumbaca, his brothers Gil (Diane), Phil (Brandie) and Keith (Betty Lou) Bellavance and also his in-laws Neil and Shelley Vanderveen, Scott and Linda Sheppard as well as his many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Visitation and service will be held at EMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH (374 Salem Road, Barrie) on Monday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11 o’clock a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to: jdrf.ca for Type 1 Diabetes Research (two of Tony’s grandchildren have Type 1).
