Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27th at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in his 84th year. Beloved husband to Shirley Bates (Bowdery) for 47 years. Loving Father to Eric Bates. Jim was predeceased by his parents, David and Mary Bates (Gilpin). Survived by his brother Vernon Bates and his sisters Margaret Bates and Shirley Ann Bates. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Friday, December 31st from 1-3 pm. Proof of vaccination will be required to attend. Interment will take place in the spring with dates and time to follow.
