On Thursday July 19, 2018, Elizabeth passed away in her 77th year after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of David for 44 years and daughter of Duncan and Margaret Bennet as well as sister of Margaret Jean. She is survived by many nephews and nieces. She was born in 1941 in Scotland and immigrated to Canada in her early twenties with three of her girlfriends and settled in Toronto.
Liz worked many years in the Toronto Life Insurance industry. She subsequently worked in Barrie as a Manager with Prudential Life and then London Life. Rather than retiring completely she then enjoyed several more years working with H&R Block.
Elizabeth will be remembered fondly by all of her neighbours, work colleagues and curling friends as well as her golfing buddies at the Barrie CC and Bear Creek GC. She really loved her golf and curling and lived a full life, making an impression on everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11 o`clock a.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre would be appreciated.
