Passed peacefully at the Bickle Centre in Toronto on October 18th, 2020 after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 74. Predeceased by her husband Henrique in 2015. Loving mother of Paulo de Albernaz and Sharlene Albernaz (Carlos Valentim). Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Brianna, Amanda and Matthew. Dear sister of José Cabral, Gilda Oliveira and Francisco Cabral.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 from 7 – 9 p.m. Please note that facial coverings, as well as physical distancing and gathering restrictions are mandatory. A private family service and interment will follow on October 24th, 2020, with public livestream available at 11 a.m. If desired, donations in Maria’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and are greatly appreciated by the family.
