Colts bring some local kids home through OHL draft

With the draft over, Barrie will continue their focus to on-ice action tonight in the second round of the playoffs against rival North Bay

The Barrie Colts have completed their picks for the OHL Priority Selection and on day two ended up grabbing some local flare for the future while more of the region’s best found home clubs elsewhere.

The draft began Friday night and wrapped up Saturday afternoon with 302 picks being made by all OHL clubs.

The Colts made four picks through three rounds on night one and today drafted 16 players from rounds 4 to 15.

Players born in 2007 are eligible and while the majority are from Ontario, some picked were US born.

Locally, the Colts grabbed three local players, starting with Innisfil’s Johnathan Cirone (LW, Barrie Jr. Colts U16 AAA).
