Georgian cross-country team runs to sixth-place finish in Toronto

Bracebridge native Tyler Thomson finished as Georgian’s top runner, finishing in 15th overall in the 8K race

The Georgian Grizzlies men’s and women’s cross-country competed at the Centennial Invitational this past Saturday in Toronto.

It was another good race for Georgian’s men’s team as they combined to finish in sixth place at the event.

Tyler Thomson (Bracebridge) finished as Georgian’s top runner after completing the 8km race in a time of 29:29, to finish in 15th overall.

Right behind him was teammate Michael MacInnes (Barrie) who finished in 16th place for the second straight event.

Jeffrey Scott (Newmarket) was 19th, Jordan Woolner (Barrie) was 35th and Dylan Kiesler (London) finished 40th overall.

On the women’s side, Desiree Allen (Orillia) was the lone Georgian runner and she finished in 34th place overall.

Georgian will now prepare for the upcoming 2019 OCAA Cross Country Championships which will be hosted by St. Clair College on Saturday, Oct. 26 in Windsor.
