2019 Team Canada members, Zachary Wilkins of Barrie and Joshua Bautista from the Georgian College Kodiaks Bowling team will represent Canada in 2020 on the men’s and junior men’s teams.

Each earned their spot on the team with close finishes at the Canadian Team Trials this past long weekend in Montreal, Que.

Wilkins flipped back and forth throughout the 18-game qualifier from positions 2 to 5. With high games of 268-266-258, Zach was able to secure third and the bronze medal. Wilkins along with the other five top men will have the opportunity to be selected to represent Canada in 2020.

Up next for Zach is the Memorial Classic in Wyoming, Mich., followed by the Proprietors Cup VIII in Dayton, Ohio. During his down time, you can find Wilkins on the golf course perfecting his swing.

Bautista, a junior at Georgian College and member on the Georgian Kodiaks Bowling Team, captured the gold medal to guarantee his position on the 2020 junior men’s team. In addition to making the junior team, Bautista etched his way up the leader board to make the cut of 18 for the men’s team.

Averaging 201 for 24 games and high scores of 269-245, Bautista was unable to gain momentum to make the move to the top 6. Bautista is looking forward to the 2019 season with the Kodiaks with his current and new team members. Up next for Josh is Junior Gold in Michigan followed by Team Canada Pabcon in Santo Domingo.

Head Coach of the Kodiaks, John Fallis of Bradford, competed in his first team trials in over 25 years. A challenging day one short pattern put John behind. Fallis managed to grind out the rest of the tournament with an average of 183 for 18 games.

Up next for John is some R&R at the trailer. John will be working hard preparing for the Georgian Kodiaks tryouts and 2019-20 season schedule.
