Barrie Colts U11 squad skates to silver medal on home ice

The under-11 Barrie Colts team won a silver medal on the weekend.

The Barrie Colts under-11 hockey team battled hard and never gave up en route to a silver medal on home ice at the Peggy Hill Showcase Tournament this past weekend. 

The team had two wins, one tie and a loss in the round-robin, earning themselves a rematch spot in the semifinals where they had 6-0 shutout win to advance to the final. 

The team gave it their all and left it all out on the ice to bring home a silver medal.

The coaching staff said every athlete should hold their heads up high as they represented their home with the upmost respect and pride, adding they had a lot of fun and made some memories to last a lifetime.  

The team includes Jacob Forrest, Nolan McColl, Jack Whipp, Harris Waterman, Teagan Tiffin-Seminara, Everett Braithwaite, RJ Halbych, Luka Jasek, Benjamin Blank, Gavin Brook, Mason Bondy, Cole Fluney, Colton Proc, Brennan Langille, Cameron Cloggie and Mitchell Bednarczyk, as well as goalies Blake Barter and Cooper Suggit.

The team staff includes Bill Forrest, Brandon Doherty, Marcello Seminara, Rob Waterman, Christine McColl, and Nicole Forrest.
