Barrie Colts netminder Sam Hillebrandt has been named Ontario Hockey League goaltender of the week for the second time this season.
The 18-year-old posted a pair of wins against Owen Sound and Oshawa, with a 2.40 goals-against average (GAA) and .940 save percentage.
Stopping a total of 78 shots last week, Hillebrandt turned aside 38 of the 41 attempts on Thursday as Barrie defeated the Owen Sound Attack, 7-3.
The six-foot-one, 166-pound goalie, who hails from Riverview, Fla., was back in the crease with a 40-save performance on Saturday, stopping all four shootout attempts he faced to earn first-star honours in a 3-2 shootout win over the Oshawa Generals.
The Colts improved their record to 18-24-1-0 on the season with the victory.
Hillebrandt has an 11-11 record on the season with a 3.29 GAA and a .907 save percentage.
Originally hailing from Michigan, Hillebrandt played in the Detroit Little Caesars AAA program before moving to Florida. He won a gold medal with the United States at the 2024 world juniors in Sweden.
The Colts signed Hillebrandt as a free agent ahead of the 2022-23 season after he spent the 2021-22 season with the Florida Alliance North U16 organization.
Also in the running for this week's top-goalie award were Nathan Day of the Flint Firebirds and Charlie Schenkel Soo Greyhounds.
Hillebrandt was also OHL goalie of the week for Oct. 23-29.
