Game 2 of the Dominico Cup final felt like déjà vu all over again.

The Kitchener Panthers jumped out to an early lead and then watched it vanish as the Barrie Baycats battled back late with enough runs to steal the win.

Like the series opener, Kitchener held a 4-0 advantage through four innings. This time, however, Barrie scored six straight instead of the seven it tallied Tuesday.

The Baycats scored five in the seventh and one in the eighth to win 6-4 Thursday night at Jack Couch Park and lead the best-of-seven series, 2-0, with Game 3 back home Saturday night.

Conner Morro went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs for Barrie. Starlin Rodriguez singled twice and drove in a run, Ryan Rijo and Branfy Infante each had an RBI and scored, Jordan Castaldo had an RBI, and Jeff Cowan singled and doubled.

Matthew St. Kitts (3-0) went seven innings and allowed four runs, though none were earned. He scattered six hits and walked two while striking out eight. Adam Hawes struck out two for his second save of the playoffs.

Panthers starter Yoennis Yera took a shutout into the seventh before finding trouble. Yera was pulled in the seventh without recording an out. He was charged with three runs on four hits in six innings with a walk and eight strikeouts.

Brady Schnarr (1-1) took the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit with a walk in an inning.

Offensively, Ryley Davenport homered and drove in two. Mike Gordner singled twice and scored, Colin Gordner drove in a run, scored, and stole a base, and Yorbis Borroto singled twice.
