'Sunshine,' as she is affectionately called by her friends and aqua fitness classmates, was celebrated on Wednesday.
The Bradford Leisure Centre, along with family and friends, threw Mildred Thompson a surprise party to mark her 99th birthday.
Born in Parry Sound in 1924, Thompson is one of six children in her family. She grew up on a farm just outside of town.
When her father went off to war, her mother and siblings kept the farm going.
Still very active and bright, Thompson attends the BWG Leisure Centre two to three times a week for water workouts.
