Woman airlifted following serious crash

The  pick up truck was travelling eastbound on Highway 12 when it lost control and was struck by the westbound SUV.

The OPP wish to apologize for any confusion that the earlier media release may have caused.

ORO-MEDONTE TWP -  On Tuesday December 2, 2015 at approximately 8:20 a.m. members of the Barrie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oro-Medonte Fire department and Simcoe EMS attended a two vehicle collision on Highway #12 near Condor Drive, Warminster, ON.

An SUV was westbound on Highway #12, lost control and struck a pickup truck traveling east on Highway #12. 

Female driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital then airlifted to a Toronto area hospital where she is listed in stable condition. 

The male driver of the SUV was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries.

Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting in the investigation of the collision. 

Highway #12 was closed for approximately 6 hours. 

The highway was reported to be icy at the time of the crash.

Barrie OPP would like to remind motorist that with the changing road conditions, especially in the early morning hours this week to take extra precautions and drive with care.
