BARRIE - Mackenzie Oliver, student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School, has been chosen to receive the Diana Award.

Named after Princess Diana, the award recognizes outstanding young individuals who promote positive social action through their communities.

The 16-year old has made it her mission to use her compassion, energy and leadership to be a positive force in her community.

At the young age of nine, she founded the I Love Me Club, an organization that promotes self-esteem and the prevention of bullying.

The club challenges its supporters to perform good acts in the community and has grown tremendously through social media.

Mary de Oliviera, teacher at St. Joan of Arc, says, “We at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School are extremely proud of Mackenzie. The Diana Award will encourage her to continue her fantastic work and will hopefully inspire others to make a difference in the community. Mackenzie is delighted to receive an award in recognition of her work.”

Since 1999, over 47,000 individuals across the globe have been presented with a Diana Award for making a difference in their community.

Please visit the Diana Awards and the I Love Me Club for more information.
