Mayor Jeff Lehman welcomed BarrieToday to the community in a ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon at Casa Cappuccino.
Along with Lehman, BarrieToday journalists Sue Sgambati and Robin MacLennan were also on hand for the celebration.
BarrieToday is part of the growing Village Media online network.
In honour of this week's launch in Barrie, Village Media has so far given out more than 225 medium coffees at Casa Cappuccino.
The free coffee offer continues until 10 p.m.
