What not to do when you need a loan

Never do this. Like never, ever
its a trap

NEWS RELEASE

 SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE

*************************
On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, an Innisfil man contacted South Simcoe Police about an on-line scam.

It seems the man went on-line in search of a loan.

He applied at a website and was contacted by a suspect the next day.

He was told that his loan was approved but because he was high risk, would have to pay cash up front to insure the loan.

The victim forwarded a total of $1,600 to the suspect, and has had no further contact.

Never send money either on-line or by wire transfer to someone you do not know.

A legitimate lender will never demand money up front for a loan.
