On Wednesday, January 13, 2016 just after 9 p.m., police responded to a theft at Walmart located at, 35 Mapleview Drive West, in the City of Barrie.
Upon arrival police arrested a 34-year-old Barrie female for theft under $5,000.
The female had been observed by loss prevention officers selecting various household items and placing them into a shopping cart.
The female then made her way to the front of the store and abandoned her shopping cart near the front exit and left.
Moments later she returned and took the shopping cart that had still been filled with items, and quickly exited the store.
Loss prevention officers quickly apprehended the female before she could flee the area and contacted police.
The 34-year-old female was released on an appearance notice and will appear in a Barrie court in February 2016.
