Volunteer firefighters breaking out sponges for charity car wash

South Springwater Fire Fighters Association will be 'on scene' Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Bayfield Street parking lot

The South Springwater Fire Fighters Association (SSFFA) is excited to announce the return of its annual Car Wash event this weekend.

Volunteer firefighters from Station 2 in Midhurst and Station 3 in Minesing will be “on the scene” Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fresh 93.1 radio station parking lot located at 1125 Bayfield St. N., where they will be suds-ing up vehicles to raise money for local charities.

The SSFFA, which was formed when the Township of Springwater was incorporated in 1994, supports several local charities in Simcoe County through its fundraising events.

Currently, they are working to raise money to support the needs of the Barrie Salvation Army, the Elmvale Food Bank, the Busby Centre, Gilda’s Club, the Barrie Women and Children’s Shelter, Hospice Simcoe, Candlelighters, the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children, and the Children’s Aid Society.
