On the 19th of December 2015 South Simcoe Police received a call from a female party alleging that a threatening message had been left on her voice mail.
Police were able to determine the message was left by the victim's ex common law partner.
While investigating police learned of an assault that had also occurred between the victim and accused in the fall of 2015.
As a result of the investigation South Simcoe Police arrested a 55 year old Barrie male and charged him with Uttering Threats and Assault.
The male was released on conditions not to have any contact with his former partner and a future court date in January 2016.
