VIDEO: Roberta Place residents, workers recognized with special drive-by parade

More than 20 vehicles took part in the event and there was also a bagpiper

Staff from North Simcoe Muskoka Specialized Geriatrics Services were joined by local partners and Barrie firefighters to show their support for people living and working at Roberta Place on Essa Road in the city's south end. 

There were more than 20 vehicles in the parade and a bagpiper.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit declared an outbreak at the long-term care home on Jan. 8. In just over a month, there were 67 confirmed resident deaths linked to the virus, three more considered probable, and one death of an essential caregiver who was associated with the long-term care home where his wife resided.

The outbreak was declared over on Feb. 18.
