Two pronounced dead after speeding collision

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH – At approximately 7 p.m., July 25, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment OPP were called to the scene of a single motor vehicle crash on the Adjala-Tosorontio, New Tecumseth Townline, just north of Colgan.

A witness report indicates seeing a GMC Yukon, northbound and appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 60 km/hr.

OPP were assisted at the scene by New Tecumseth Fire Service, Simcoe County Paramedics, ORNGE Ambulance, and OPP TTCI (Technical Traffic Collision Investigations).

Both male parties were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Names of the deceased persons are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Speed was a contributing factor in this fatal crash. Once again motorists are reminded that “Speed kills”.
