WASAGA BEACH - On May 19, 2019 at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report that a male and female in a blue inflatable raft were unable to reach the shore and were stranded on the water in the town of Wasaga Beach.

As police were en route further reports indicated that neither of the involved parties were wearing life-jackets.

Upon arrival, OPP officers successfully removed the parties from Georgian Bay.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police remind all that wearing an approved life-jacket is encouraged when on the water.
