Two 19-year-olds arrested on Daphne Crescent

Two suspects were found to be intoxicated and in possession of several items that had been stolen from unlocked vehicles, say police

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, just after 5 a.m. police received reports of two men breaking into vehicles on Daphne Crescent, in the City of Barrie.

Police located the men on Daphne Crescent, and both men were found to be intoxicated and in possession of several items that had been stolen from unlocked vehicles.

The two 19-year-old Barrie men were arrested and transported to the Barrie Police Station and charged with; Theft Under $5,000, Property Obtained by Crime and Trespass by Night.

The two men were later released on several conditions, which included alcohol and curfew related conditions. They will appear in a Barrie Court in November.

Police are reminding residents to never leave valuables inside a vehicle and ensure vehicles are locked at all times.

Vehicles parked in driveways are just as susceptible to thefts and/or break-in's as vehicles that have been parked in a public parking lot.
