GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 400 in Georgian Bay Township at 7:40 p.m. December 16, 2015.
A tractor trailer was southbound on Highway 400 just north of South Bay Road when it left the roadway and struck a rock face in the centre median.
Investigators were assisted by members of the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators Unit (TTCI).
Georgian Bay Fire and Simcoe County Paramedics Services also assisted at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer Gurpreet Singh GILL (age 41) of Brampton succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
