Tractor trailer crash shuts down Highway 400 (2 photos)

A fuel tanker rolled over, spilling fuel into the ditch; Officials say the highway is expected to be closed for several hours

A fuel tanker truck rolled over into the ditch on Highway 400 early this morning.

The incident happened in the northbound lanes of the busy highway, at County Road 93 in Oro-Medonte Township, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

There were no serious injuries reported, however, fuel has been spilled as a result of the crash and while the cleanup is underway, Orillia OPP say it will take several hours to clean up the mess.

Officials from the province's Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks are on the scene. 

Police are warning motorists of slippery conditions throughout the region. School buses in the North Zone were cancelled earlier today.
