Tornado-ravaged neighbourhood begins to clean up (16 photos)

Many residents, their friends and professional crews were busy Saturday assessing damage and beginning the long process of rebuilding

It was anything but a typical Saturday in a south Barrie neighbourhood devastated by an EF-2 tornado that caused a swath of destruction Thursday afternoon.

But, less than 48 hours after the tenacious twister, the reality is it is going to take time to clean things up. And, for many, they could be out of their homes for several months - or longer.

Today, residents, friends, construction crews and city crews were busy clearing the debris and beginning the long process of rebuilding.

These images from photographer Kevin Lamb provide a glimpse into the depth of the damage and the work ahead.
