If Mother Nature cooperates, City Hall's Circle at the Centre outdoor skating rink is set to open this Saturday.
The site, located at 70 Collier Street, is open 7 days a week 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. weather permitting.
It offers parking and heated change rooms but is for pleasure skating only--no hockey.
Barrie has six outdoor skating rinks maintained by City staff as well as about two dozen rinks maintained by volunteers.
Centennial Park's Community Ice Rink located at 65 Lakeshore Drive is scheduled to open December 19 weather permitting.
The city says check barrie.ca/rinks to confirm the status.
