Three new COVID cases at Assikinack school today

New cases also being reported at Sister Catherine Donnelly, St. Catherine of Siena, West Bayfield, and Willow Landing in Barrie

There are 10 new COVID-19 cases being reported in schools across Simcoe County today, including seven in Barrie. 

Currently, there are 38 total active COVID-19 cases being reported by local school boards at Simcoe County schools as of 4 p.m. on Nov. 1.

Two new cases and two new classroom closures are being reported at Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil today. However, as six cases and two classroom closures were taken off the school’s list, their reporting is showing an overall reduction of cases at the school today.

Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one case and one classroom closure today.

One new case is also being reported at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie, adding to two cases and two classroom closures previously reported at the school.

There are three new cases being reported at Assikinack Public School in Barrie. This adds to three cases and three classroom closures previously reported at the school.

Innisfil Central Public School is reporting one case and one classroom closure today.

West Bayfield Elementary School is reporting one new case today.

Willow Landing Elementary School in Barrie is reporting one new case today, and one classroom closure.

According to the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 25 active cases spread across eight schools:

  • Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School is reporting one case, and one classroom closure
  • 12 cases at Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil with seven classrooms closed
  • Saint Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School in Barrie has one case and one classroom closure
  • Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School in Barrie is reporting one case and one classroom closure today
  • Three cases at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie and two classroom closures
  • Two cases at St. Mary's Catholic School in Collingwood, with two classrooms closed
  • Four cases and seven classroom closures at St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Barrie
  • One case at St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School in Barrie, two classroom closures

The health unit declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Holy Cross Catholic School on Oct. 15, which is still active.

At the Simcoe County District School Board, they are currently reporting 13 active cases spread across seven schools:

  • Assikinack Public School in Barrie has six cases and three classroom closures
  • Hewitt's Creek Public School in Barrie has one case and one classroom closure
  • Innisfil Central Public School is reporting one case and one classroom closure today
  • Orchard Park Public School in Orillia has two cases, and two classroom closures
  • W.H. Day Elementary School in Bradford is reporting one case and one classroom closure
  • West Bayfield Elementary School has one case
  • Willow Landing Elementary School in Barrie has one case, and one classroom closure.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting an outbreak at Assikinack Public School as of Oct. 21, and at Portage View Public School as of Oct. 22. Both are still active.

La Source Elementary School in Barrie, which is part of the Conseil scolaire Viamonde board reported one active case on Oct. 29.
