The number of new cases of the coronavirus is staying relatively consistent.
Public Health Ontario is reporting 137 new COVID-19 cases in the province today; that represents a .7% increase in the overall number of cases. On Saturday, authorities reported 138 new cases.
Among the new cases, 39 are in Toronto, 28 are in Ottawa and 25 are in Windsor.
There were four more deaths reported Sunday, raising the total number of deaths to 2,763.
Over the last 24 hours, more than 26,000 tests for the virus were completed across the province, bringing the total number of tests in Ontario since the pandemic began to 2,044,957.
In total, there have been 38,680 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province since the pandemic began. Almost 89% of those cases have been resolved.
Of the 2,763 deaths of people with COVID-19, 1,792 were residents of long-term care homes while eight were long-term care health workers. Seven per cent of all Ontario cases reported have ended in death.
There are more than 1,500 active, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province based on Public Health Ontario's epidemiological report. Of those, 87 people are currently hospitalized with 29 patients in intensive care and 21 patients on ventilators.
However, according to today's report, about 30 hospitals did not submit data today, so there may be an increase in the number of hospitalized patients once those hospitals report.
As of today, there are 12 active outbreaks at long-term care homes in Ontario.
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported 647 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region to date, with 616 of those reported in Simcoe County.
Thirty-six people have died in Simcoe County and Muskoka and the health unit has reported 573 recoveries. The incidence rate for Simcoe-Muskoka region is 108.5 cases per 100,000 people in the population.
There are 37 active cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County including four people hospitalized, according to the health unit's July 24 epidemiological report. There is one active, hospitalized case in Muskoka District.
