It has been quite a journey for 18-year-old Jacob Allen dedicating every spare moment to his training to help earn his spot on the WKC Canadian national karate team.

Allen, an instructor at RMA Karate Centres, first needed to qualify at the provincial trials in April to advance to the national team trials this past Victoria day long weekend in Gatineau, Que.

Only the top four in each division qualified to represent Canada at the upcoming world karate and kickboxing championships in Niagara Falls, NY this November.

Allen will be representing Canada this November in the creative weapons division where he will demonstrate his sword form to the international judges.

Allen’s instructor Tressa Young, who is a multiple world karate and kickboxing champion winning over 50 gold for Canada, continues to work with Allen in private sessions to help prepare him for the upcoming championships.

“Jacob is an amazing instructor at RMA who works extremely hard not only in his private training sessions but also in his regular,” Young stated.
