Tanger Outlets Cookstown presented a cheque of $47,808.58 to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre from proceeds from the Tanger Outlets annual Tanger Pink program, in support of breast cancer.

“Tanger Outlets Cookstown is very passionate about the Tanger Pink program,” said Tanger Outlets general manager Stacey Melo. “We are very proud this year to be hitting a milestone of $100,000 raised for breast cancer services at RVH over the past three years and I think that speaks volumes of the support this program receives from our community. We are very grateful for the community that surrounds us and want to thank all of our stores, employees and community partners for their ongoing support of this program.”

The Tanger Pink program offers shoppers 15 to 25 per cent off savings with the purchase of an unlimited use Pink Savings Card, giving shoppers the opportunity to receive additional savings on the best brand-name and designer fashions while making a big impact on the fight against breast cancer. Cards were sold throughout the month of October at Tanger Outlets Shopper Services, in participating stores, and additional fundraising efforts were made by Innisfil Fire and Rescue Services, who held a boot drive at the centre and raised over $12,000, which is included in the total.

Funds raised from this year’s Tanger Pink program benefiting RVH breast cancer services will support RVH Foundation’s new Keep Life Wild campaign to bring more care closer to home.

For nearly 30 years, the signature Tanger Pink program has contributed more than $18.5 million toward raising awareness for early detection, funding research programs and supporting those affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. Over $185,000 has been contributed locally to breast cancer causes since the Tanger Pink program launched at Tanger Outlets Cookstown in 2014.
