TOWNSHIP OF ESSA - At approximately 2:10 p.m., Sept. 27, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a motor vehicle collision on Simcoe County Road 56 at the 5th Sideroad of Essa Township.
[It is alleged that] a westbound dump truck [edited for legal reasons] failed to stop at the stop sign at the 5th Sideroad and collided with a northbound Chevrolet Blazer being driven by Erika Szarka, age 43, of Wasaga Beach.
Szarka was airlifted by Air Ambulance to a Toronto area Hospital where she remains in stable condition.
This collision is still under investigation and charges are pending.
