Students test their luck during travelling game show (10 photos)

GAME BRAiN, hosted by Jason Agnew and Matt Chin of YTV’s Splatalot, ran at Barrie North Collegiate and Eastview Secondary School on Tuesday

Online betting represents one of the fastest-growing segments of the gambling industry and studies are now showing that the rate of youth participation is rising.

To help raise awareness of the risks of gambling to students across Ontario, the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) is touring high schools for a fifth year with its show GAME BRAiN.

Jason Agnew and Matt Chin of YTV’s Splatalot hosted the show at Barrie North Collegiate and Eastview Secondary School in Barrie today, getting kids to answer trivia questions and complete challenges.

“We were hired on five years ago to do this,” says Agnew. “The nice thing about having two television personalities that the kids know is they’re more likely to pay attention.”

This year, GAME BRAiN will also be running a contest on social media to help spread the awareness message to students who do not get the chance to see the live show. The contest will give Ontario students a chance to win a gift certificate from Amazon.ca to help with the costs of school.
